The Margin of a Doubt
Site-specific work for the Szatnia Gallery at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun City consisted of three jackets supplemented with pocket squares, suspended on an original hanger that once served as a hanger utility room in the former locker room, a text about disinformation by decision-makers of the fossil fuel industry and the lingering odour of smog, which I created during home experiments.

Praca eksponowana w Galerii Szatnia na Wydziale Sztuk Pięknych UMK
w Toruniu składała się z trzech marynarek uzupełnionych poszetkami,
zawieszonymi na oryginalnym wieszaku pełniącym niegdyś funkcję
użytkową w dawnej szatni, tekstu bazującego na pracy Epoka człowieka. Retoryka i marazm antropocenu prof. dr hab. Ewy Bińczyk na temat dezinformacji prowadzonej
przez decydentów przemysłu paliw kopalnych oraz unoszącego się zapachu
smogu, który uzyskałam w procesie domowych eksperymentów.

Ciepła i sucha jesień
Wychodzę pośpiesznie z domu po długim czasie bezruchu przed ekranem komputera. Dopiero gdy jestem już za daleko by zawrócić uświadamiam sobie, że jest za ciepło. Mijając przechodniów w krótkich rękawkach, łapię ich wzrok politowania skierowany na moje poliestrowe futro. Nie powinno być aż tak ciepło.
Zapach nadciągającej zimy
Zmysł węchu ma ogromne znaczenie jako wskaźnik zagrożenia, wysyłając sygnał do ucieczki. Otaczający mnie wieczorny swąd smogu sprawia, że w pierwszym momencie chcę uciec, ale nie ma dokąd. Zresztą, gdybym zdecydowała się pobiec mój organizm automatycznie zacząłby wtłaczać jeszcze więcej toksyn do krwioobiegu. Zapominam więc o zapachu adaptując się do niego.
Trzeba palić wszystkim
Lekceważący stosunek przemysłu paliw kopalnych do ryzyka destabilizacji systemu klimatycznego Ziemi sprawia, że wątpliwości zasiane przez negacjonistów w dalszym ciągu odbijają się echem, przesłaniając badania klimatologów potwierdzające antropogeniczne skutki tego zjawiska. Na kampanie dezinformacyjne przeznaczane są miliony dolarów, a ja myślę o elegancko ubranych dyrektorach, pracownikach działu PR, politykach. Okrągłe słówka i niewinne pytania, które przesłaniają horyzont przyszłości.

The scent of approaching winter
The sense of smell plays a crucial role as an alarm system, triggering
the instinct to flee. The smoky, smog-filled evening air around me
makes me want to run - at first. But there’s nowhere to go. And
even if I did run, my body would only pump more toxins into my
bloodstream. So I forget the smell, adapting to it.
